MUBIRU ON TRANSITING FROM JUNIOR TO SENIOR TEAM
Youngster Hassan Mubiru is overjoyed to be an Express FC Senior team player and he is focused on playing game in and game out for the Red Eagles.

Mubiru was promoted to the Senior team from the Junior team at the start of the ongoing season – he featured for the junior side since the 2015/16 campaign.

To mark his debut for the seven-time champions, Mubiru came on as a second-half substitute in Express’s 1-0 victory over Busoga United FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in Jinja a week ago.

He went on and played in his second consecutive game for the club when he once again came on as a second-half substitute in the Red Eagles’ 2-0 home loss to Soltilo Bright Stars FC at Wankulukuku on Tuesday.

Mubiru is an aggressive, skillful, and fast-paced player and he is eager to continue learning from the senior players at the club.
“Playing for the Express Senior team is something I dreamt of for a long time ever since I was on the Junior team and I am thrilled to have achieved that dream. I was a bit nervous when the coach (James Odoch) said I was coming on against Busoga but I managed to cope up and we even won the game. I have so far only been able to come on as a substitute but going forward I want to be a starter and also help the team to win trophies.”
