WASSWA BBOSA’S THOUGHTS ON OUR UPL FIRST ROUND.
Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has shared his thoughts after the club’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League first round curtains came down on match day 15 during the 1-1 draw at home to Soltilo Bright Stars FC.
The defending league champions managed to claw their way back into the title race despite the false start and Bbosa states it’s been a tough first round although he’s happy the players picked up.

“It was a tough start, we didn’t have time for the players to rest after the previous season which I thought took a toll on us. The back to back league losses (Arua Hill at home and UPDF FC away) gave us a reality check and I like that we took it head on so to manage seven wins and six draws in 15 games with 27 points collected I feel it’s a fairly a good performance”. He said before adding alot more work has to be done in the second round.

“We need to have a near to perfect second round, it’s a tough target but if we have to defend the league, we have to win most of the games. We should also be more sharper upfront because to win games you have to score but overall I am positive that we shall do the needful”.

The Red Eagles sit 3rd on the log on 27 points and begin their StarTimes Uganda Premier League second round with an away fixture against Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the Kavuma Recreation Grounds.
In a related development, Express FC record Uganda cup champions have been drawn away against Regional side PCCP FC in the round of 64. The game will take place between 18th to 30th January. The Red Eagles have won the domestic cup for a record 10 times in their history.
