The Yellow Card Express FC Player Of the month January nominees are out. Forward George Senkaaba, winger Martin Kizza and right back Deus Bukenya make the three man shortlist.

January saw the Red Eagles play three games across all competitions winning two and drawing one. Wasswa Bbosa’s charges managed a win each in the league and the cup and also managed a draw in the league.

The month kicked off with an away trip to struggling Tooro United FC at Buhinga stadium and the Red Eagles managed a 2-0 win with winger Martin Kizza notching a brace.

Next up was the first home league game of the 2022 against Soltilo Bright Stars FC, forward George Senkaaba opened the scoring before the visitors equalised through Omony Alex.

The last game in January saw the Red Eagles face fourth division side PCCP FC in the Stanbic Uganda cup round of 64 and came out on top with a comfortable 3-0 win. Two assists from George Ssenkaba and goal along with Yaya Mahad Kakooza and Joseph Akandwanaho’s goals sealed a round of 32 spot.

THE NOMINEES.

George Senkaaba.

The forward played all three games in the month and scored the first goal of the new year at home against Soltilo Bright Stars FC, he then picked up two assists and a goal as the Red Eagles reached the Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 with 3-0 win over PCCP FC.

Martin Kizza.

The winger who had a slow start to the season scored twice away to Tooro United FC in the first away game of the year.

Deus Bukenya.

The versatile defender earns his second nomination as a player of the month. “B.K” like he’s fondly known managed an assist in the three games played in January. He also marshalled the backline which managed two clean sheets in the month.
