MATCH REPORT: EXPRESS FC PICK A POINT AWAY IN BOMBO.
The Red Eagles kicked off their 2022/23 season with shared points away in Bombo against UPDF FC on Saturday Evening. From the first minutes the boys kept pressing keeping most of the ball possession to them.

The Red Eagles had couple of notable chances. In the eleventh minute Arthur Kiggundu’s perfectly curled ball went slightly above the cross bar. In the nineteenth minute, Allan Kayiwa’s free kick went inches right off the goal post. Ivan Mayanja also had a couple of chances that he scrumbled above the cross bar.
After recess it was all about getting as many shots on target as possible and the day breaker came when Allan Kayiwa parfectly shot in goal a Ntege Anwar assist in the fiftieth minute.

Enock Ssebaggala also had a shot on goal in the fifty ninth minute and was saved by UPDF’s Mutumba Ivan.
UPDF equalised in the sixty fifth minute after failure to clear the ball by the Red Eagles’ defense.
James Odoch rang the changes in bringing on Marvin Oshaba and Daniel Shabene for Joseph Akandwanaho and Enock Ssebaggala respectively. The double sub made immediate impact with UPDF FC’s Left back Pius Kaggwa forcing crosses from the flank. In the 87th minute Allan Kayiwa’s shot closed the day with his shot going inches wide thanks to Ssenoga’s assist from the center of the park.

I am so happy scoring on my debut it was a good game but we failed to use the chances we gained thus the opponents capitalized on our mistakes and equalised us. We head back home on the drawing board and hope for the best in the next game.

I thank the boys for the fantastic football displayed today we’ve taken long without winning a game in Bombo but we shall build on the point earned.we are going to use this time before our next game (URA) at home to correct the mistakes we’ve observed in this game.
The red eagles will host URA FC on match day two in wankulukuku Next Saturday.
