MATCH REPORT: EXPRESS FC LEAVE IT LATE AWAY TO POLICE FC.
League champions Express FC fought back to earn maximum points with a 2-1 win against Police FC on Tuesday afternoon at the Phillip Omondi stadium Lugogo.
Versatile defender Deus Bukenya and forward George Senkaaba scored the goals while Juma Balinya scored for the hosts.

The game kicked off well for the visitors with Martin Kizza being fouled around the 18 yard area giving center referee Ronald Madanda no option but to award a freekick, up stepped Deus Bukenya whose long-range strike went straight into the roof of the net on the 13th minute to give the Red Eagles the lead.

Police FC then switched on, doing their usual drill of ball possession and Express FC had to fall back to slow down the tempo but it was a little late as Juma Balinya scored from 18 yards to level the score in the 32nd minute to send the home bench into wild celebrations. Both sides headed into the break level.

After recess, the Cops kept to their plan, holding the ball more but the Red Eagles kept in the game with Erick Kambale disturbing the Police backline. Wasswa Bbosa then introduced George Senkaaba for Charles Musiige with 9 nine minutes left and it proved to be worthwhile.

The forward followed through Yaya Mahad’s cross and slotted home to double the Red Eagles’ lead at the death.

REACTIONS.
Wasswa Bbosa – Head Coach.
“Today we were able to win this game because the boys believed in themselves, we had issues with fatigue at the start of the season but we’re passed that now. The difference today was going forward, we kept going forward and hoped to get the chance and we did exactly that so we’re happy about it”.

George Senkaaba – Forward.
