MATCH REPORT: EXPRESS FC DISPATCH WAKISO GIANTS FC.

Express FC managed a third straight league win also second straight away win with a comfortable 2-1 victory over Wakiso Giants FC on Wednesday evening at the Wakisha Recreational Grounds.

Captain Enock Walusimbi scored twice for the visitors while Moses Aliro scored for the hosts.

The Red Eagles got off the mark well with captain Enock Walusimbi slotting home John Byamukama’s corner kick. The visitors then dominated all through and looked to be headed to the break with the lead but Wakiso Giants fought back to level matters.

The Express FC backline was unable to contain the interplay between Winger Moses Aliro and Ssebufu with Aliro finding the slimmest of margins to slot the ball past Denis Otim and level the score in the 33rd minute.

After the break, the Red Eagles were more than pumped up to double the lead quickly and they did, again John Byamukama’s corner kick was brushed by Joseph Akandwanaho leaving skipper Enock Walusimbi with alot of space to nod home and double the lead in the 49th minute.

Wakiso Giants then tried to make amends but goalkeeper Denis Otim was on hand to make important saves. The injury to goal scorer Enock Walusimbi who was replaced by experienced defender Murushid Juuko also didn’t affect the effectiveness of the backline at one point.

The win takes the Red Eagles to fourth on the log with 42 points.

“It’s been a tough challenge since I took over but I introduced my style of play and it needed time so I am happy we’ve won today, we would have killed off the game in the first 15 minutes but overall we still managed to win and I am grateful to the boys. We still want to keep this momentum going in our next game”.
