Mahad Yaya Kakooza Raring To Go After Injury Layoff.

Midfielder Mahad Yaya Kakooza is one of very few players at Express FC who haven’t tested any action since the league kicked off due to injury.

The knee injury suffered in preseason at the start of November has seen Yaya sit out for close to two months missing all the four league games but fortunately he’s back in contention for a starting berth and says he can’t wait to get on the green when the squad returns for training on 6th January 2021.

“It’s been a long road to recovery, I’d prepared well before I got injured and that lowered my confidence but the medical team has done a tremendous job, I am now ready for training, the boys have done well and I can’t wait to join them and play my part when we resume training” He stated.

Team doctor Kinaabi Musa stated that Yaya’s recovery has been down to hard work and discipline.

“Yaya was disappointed at first but he kept focused as we pushed on, am happy to say he now only requires match fitness which he’ll get when the team resumes training” Musa stressed.

Mahad Kakooza is in his second spell at the club and his return means head coach Wasswa Bossa will now have more attacking options. The Red Eagles are sixth on eight points after four games played and are chasing the elusive seventh league title which they last won in 2012.
