HELEN BUTEME “MADAM PAIN” RENEWS CONTRACT AT EXPRESS FC.

Following the expiry of her contract at the end of 2021/22 season. The Ex- women national rugby team skipper and coach agreed new terms with the red eagles to see her stay at the club for two more seasons.

Commonly known as “Madam Pain” by the boys, Helen Koyokoyo Buteme will stay put to her role as the strength and conditioning coach which entails improving athletic performance and teaching fitness movement skills.

“I am happy to be back at Express FC for another 2 seasons. It will be great continuing my work with the players from the previous seasons as well as with the new players that have signed. There are many youngsters and they have got the best coaches to handle them. The technical team is very open minded and have the patience to work with young players and help them develop into something special.”

Coach Helen told the club website.

“Coach Odoch wants to bring beautiful football back to the red eagles, and he has tasked me to get the players into the optimum shape needed for them to perform to their best and to be able to do what the coaches want them to do. The fans just need to be patient, this is a work in progress as this is a young team so quick results shouldn’t be expected. However, we will not disappoint. Express Fc, Mukwano Gwabangi.”

The Club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa had this to say.

“She’s been part of us for the past two seasons. Helen played a great role in us winning double silverware in our successful 2020/21 season. We cannot wait to see what she brings for us this season as she (Helen) will be totally working with a young team and not forgetting to mention a very ambitious squad.”

The Leipzig University level B conditioning license holder will work with the Head Coach James Odoch, his Assistant Eric Ndifuna and Goal Keeping coach Daniel Kiwanuka.

The club is excited to have Helen extend her stay for two years and wishes her the best.
