Odoch has penned a one year contract with the club which will see him take over as full head coach since stepping in as interim.

James Odoch became interim head midway the 2021/2022 season from Wasswa Bbosa when the club decided to part ways with him(Bbosa). Odoch played for the club four seasons between 1997 to 1999 and 2001 to 2002, representing the club at local and continental competitions where he scored a number of goals.

“I want to thank the board together with the administration for trusting me to take on the role, I am a well qualified coach with the capacity to take the club to the next level.”

James Odoch told the club website in his first Interview as head.

Club CEO Mr. Isaac Mwesigwa has hailed the former club legend as a man of principle who understands Express FC, where it is supposed to be and the kind of football it is supposed to play. He is confident that under James Odoch the club will start seeing fans back in the stadium in big numbers.

When asked about his future plans as Head Coach, the former Cranes International had this to say.

“I was a player with Express FC and also served as assistant manager in the 2020/2021 season when we won the StarTimes Uganda Premier League and CECAFA Kagame Cup championship. I know what Express is and how it should play, my major focus is going to be in building a team of young players who will play for the red eagles for a long time, at least three years with hunger, ambition, commitment and passion to archive big things.”

James Odoch is expected to announce his technical team shortly after officially taking over at Wankulukuku and the board wishes him success in the years ahead.
