When two big teams meet very many things change, (positions on the table may not count) – Coach George Ssimwogerere

The Red Eagles are back in UPL action on Saturday against table leaders KCCA at Startimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The Red Eagles edged the Kasasiro Boys 3-2 at Wankulukuku thanks to strikes from Birungi, Kambale and Galiwango. Former Red Eagle Kyambadde and Okello scored for the then visitors.

Coach George Ssimwogerere will be leading his charges to a very difficult stadium where the hosts have lost only a single game this entire campaign.

We talked to him before the game and below is what he said.

On the game on Saturday against KCCA…

We are well prepared for the game on Saturday, all the team is fine apart from Tony (Odur). We have also got a chance to train on an artificial turf twice so the game will be a good game and we shall play well.

On the team news…

Tony Odur is out injured but Captain Isaac Mutanga is back and available for selection.

On Kambale being physically ready for the game after a not satisfying show against Villa…

He is still lacking match fitness but you have to play him to get it because he won’t get it from the bench so we selected him and he played the minutes he played then we withdrew him but now his fitness levels have improved and he will help us in that game.

On playing Badru Nsubuga and Pius Mbidde in the places of usual starters Kigonya and Kayiwa against Villa and whether he will use the same approach against KCCA…

It depend on the opponent we are playing against so the way they play is the way we set up to better them. So we shall see how KCCA plays then we may change the system or stick to it.

On the challenge playing against table leaders who have lost only a single game home and on a non familiar surface…

It’s a big challenge but when two big teams meet each other very many things change so we hope they are very ready and we are very ready so the team which will follow their coaches’ instructions or follow their game plan will win the game.

On whether it’s time to see Muwanga in goal or we shall continue with Kyamera…

It will depend on the goal keeping coach, their fitness level, then we shall see who will start in goal.

The game will be played on Saturday 20th April and will be live on Sanyuka TV. Kick off is 4pm.
