Express FC head coach Wasswa Bossa has spoken out after his side recorded their first league defeat of the season which also ended the club’s 12 match unbeaten run.

The Red Eagles who lost away to UPDF FC at the Bombo military grounds on Tuesday evening will now turn their attention to their second last game of the first round on saturday but before all that, the gaffer Wasswa Bossa believes the team will bounce back better adding that the league is a marathon.

“Well I think the players did their best but we just couldn’t come out on top, there is a lot to learn from this loss (Away to UPDF FC) one of which being that the league is a marathon, the games come in fast so such bleeps are expected but what matters most is our reaction in the next games and I can assure you we shall bounce back better starting with our next game (Vs Kyetume FC) at home”.

The gaffer also bemoaned the casualty list thus far but insisted other players can take up responsibility and help the team win.

“We’ve also picked up some injuries like forward George Ssenkaaba and left back Arthur Kiggundu who are both out for up to six weeks each but I believe every player available for selection can step up and help the team win”.

Express FC currently occupy second spot on the log with 28 points, two behind table leaders URA FC and one ahead third placed Vipers S.C after 13 games played.

Up until the 1-0 defeat away to UPDF FC, the Red Eagles had recorded one of the best starts ever in the club and league history, picking up four home wins, four draws and four away wins scoring 21 goals and conceding 7 (only team with least number of goals conceded)in the process.

Wasswa Bossa’s charges complete their first round fixtures with an away trip to Lugogo to face Police FC on Tuesday 16th March 2021.
