How we performed against BUL in the league.
The first round at Wankulukuku we drew 0-0 and BUL won the second round game at Njeru 1-0 after a late Muhindo Kambale striker when nearly both teams were destined for a point.
Who is their coach?
They are coached by Peter Onen a former Villa player and a man who led the Uganda U17 team to their first ever AFCON U17 qualification. Red Eaglets Kevin Ssekimbegga and Ronnie Ziraba were part of the team.
He has managed to turn around BUL’s fortunes from relegation strugglers to a top of the table side this season.
Players to watch.
Muhindo Kambale!
Our marksman’s namesake has been at the thick of things twice this season against the big boys, Express and Villa at Njeru and Nambole respectively. He struck the winner in both games. He can hurt if not well taken care of.
Hamis Tibita!
The Uganda U20 international has developed into a dangerous net buster. His power and structure are a nightmare to any defender in the league plus his speed.
Both strikers were on tagreat for BUL in the round of 16 as they eliminated Big League side Bukedea Town Council.
How BUL are faring in the league.
The Eastern Uganda side have won 9, drawn 8 and lost 5 games in 22 games. They are 5th on the table with 35 points. Only 6 ahead of the Red Eagles in 9th.
How both teams qualified for the quarter finals.
The Red Eagles eliminated fellow Premier League side Police FC 4-1 on penalties after both teams drew 0-0 in the 90 minutes.
BUL eliminated Big League side Bukedea Town Council after beating them 4-1 at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. Their strikers Muhindo and Tibita scored a goal each.
The tie will be a single legged affair and teams will go to extra time in case the scores are level after 90 minutes. If extra time fails to separate the teams then kick from the penalty mark will determine the winner. The game will kick off at 3pm at the Betway Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
