League champions Express FC have secured the services of Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa.

The 27-year-old joins on a free transfer and has penned a two-year deal with the Red Eagles. Mutakubwa brings along with him his good ball distribution, quick reflexes and his ability to cover angles in one-on-one situations.

Mutakubwa expressed his delight on joining the team ahead of the new season.

“This is a great step towards achieving my goals as a footballer, Express FC is surely the right place to be because of the championship mentality here, I know what is expected of me and I’ll do my very best to perform at the highest level. I want to thank the head coach (Wasswa Bbosa) for having the trust in me”.

Mutakubwa has previously played Tooro United and most recently for Kyetume FC where he managed to pick up 10 clean sheets in the just concluded StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

He joins Denis Otim and Chrispus Kusiima in competing for the number one jersey at the club.
