My players fought for everything – Coach Ssimwogerere

Coach George Ssimwogerere earned his first win as Express coach on Wednesday against Nyamityobora in Kakyeeka.

We talked to him after the 2-0 win and below is what he had to say.

On the game…

It wasn’t an easy game but my players played so well they had fatigue coming from Njeru on Sunday and playing again here away on Wednesday but they recovered very well to get all three points, if we go like that we shall win many games.

On how he will handle the injury situation after again losing Zaga and Mubaraka and Muwanga receiving treatment more than twice…

I’m a professional coach so I will handle it I have many injured players and I’m lacking five strikers but I can still play.

On Zaga and Umony’s performances…

Zaga was superb. In the first half he nearly created four goal scoring opportunities so we deserved a goal and I hope he will be fine when we play Police. Brian was good as well and got a real striker’s goal.

On whether he expects some injured players to be available against Police…

They will be okay, three days are enough for them to come back and they will help us a lot.

On Mutanga again in defensive midfield….

He fought for every ball, that’s the best. They tell me that he shouldn’t play in midfield but to me he is a blocker he doesn’t go past people and that’s what I need from him. The other things we shall rectify them.
