The Red Eagles will go into Sunday’s game looking for their first win of the season. The first game against URA ended in a stalemate and they will need to go into a 9-day hiatus with 4 points and a better position on the table.

What’s the team news?

The Red Eagles will miss Ruben Paul Kabuye (Tooth Problem) Badru Nsubuga (Foot) after being stepped on during the URA game and Captain Julius Ntambi (Calf Problem) aggravated during the URA game and they will sit out Mbarara City encounter.
Isaac Mutanga and John Revita will still be out due to their transfers pending regulatory process from their former Congolese side Bukavu Dawa. Other team members are ready to play.

How have they started the season?

The hosts lost their opening game of the season to new comers Ndejje University FC 1-0 away in Luwero. This will be an extra incentive to them to put up a great fight against us as our head coach Kefa Kisala pointed out to expressfc.co.ug

Which players might we know?

Mbarara City are now home to Uganda Cranes attacker Paul Mucureezi who left KCCA FC after his contract expired at the end of the season. He will be their source of inspiration without a doubt.

Who is their manager?

They are managed by former Express and Uganda Cranes midfielder Livingstone Mbababazi who was former Onduparaka coach and has good premier league experience. Head coach Kefa Kisala also believes in his abilities. He said, “They have a good coach in Livingstone Mbabazi, they also have a good team and put up a challenge to many teams last season

How both teams performed in their previous meeting?

The teams have met only two times in the UPL and that’s the 2017/18 season. Mbarara won 1-0 at Kakyeeka while Express won the reverse fixture with the same scoreline thanks to David Ndihabwe’s stoke while Joseph Semujju missed a penalty for Express at Wankulukuku.
