Express FC inform that, as per Goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga’s wishes and at his request, the club and the player have mutually parted ways after contract renewal negotiations fell through.

Express FC would like to place on record its thanks to a player who has shown his 100% committment and made his mark during one of the best seasons in our club’s history.

Apart from the Uganda Premier League title he lifted at the end of last season (our 7th in the club’s history), Muwanga also won the Golden Glove award for keeping the most clean sheets (13) and as a club we’re greatful. Mathias Muwanga will forever be engrained in the club’s folklore for his contribution.

Muwanga spent three seasons with Express FC, the 23-year-old joined the club in the 2018/2019 season managing 54 club appearances and 24 clean sheets across all competitions.

We wish him all the best in his future endeavours.
