Mathias Muwanga ready to reclaim “first choice” Tag

Becoming first choice goalkeeper at Express FC comes with alot of responsibility, especially by providing man of the match performances every week a feat Mathias Muwanga is targeting to achieve.

The well built shot stopper who sat out the entire first round of the 2019/20 season nursing a back injury says he’s glad he featured in the second round and now wants to reclaim the number one jersey.

“It’s been tough on all the players but tougher for me because I was nursing my back injury but now am ready and can’t wait for the season to start” Muwanga told the club website.

The former Sadolin Paints and URA FC goal minder is no stranger to being at the top. In the 2015/16 season then with Sadolin Paints, Muwanga was named UPL goalkeeper of the season after notching 16 clean sheets in 25 games and he insists he can still get back to that level.

“For me it’s all about hardwork and I guarantee you am well prepared and I’ll reclaim the number one jersey” He concluded.

Muwanga managed atleast three clean sheets last season despite only playing selected matches in the second round as he regained his match fitness.
