MATCH REPORT: The Red Eagles Soar Over KCCA FC To Reach Cup Semi-Final On Away Goals Rule.
Express FC brightened their chances of winning the domestic cup for a record 11th time after they edged rivals KCCA FC on the away goals rule following a 1-1 draw on Friday evening at the Omondi stadium Lugogo.
KCCA FC scored through Sadat Anaku while the visitors got the all important away goal through Martin Kizza from 12 yards.

The first period was characterized by low intensity from both sides, the home side dominated most of the first period with good interplay but it was forward Sadat Anaku’s curler in the 42nd minute to open the scoring for KCCA FC after connecting well with Ashiraf Mugume pass that stood out, after the break Express FC tried pushing using more of the flanks through Lwesibawa Godfrey and Martin Kizza but on several attempts, goalkeeper Charles Lukwago contained the situation.

The moment of madness came in the 81st minute when KCCA FC Goalkeeper Charles Lukwago in an off the ball incident elbowed Express FC midfielder Charles Musiige who then fell to the ground requiring treatment, centre referee Kaddu Ali had no option but to award the spot kick.
Winger Martin Kizza stepped up and converted in the 83rd minute to level the game and get the all important away goal.

The boys fought through the remaining minutes and book a spot in the semi-final of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
