MATCH REPORT: Express FC Dispatch Kitara FC To Maintain Table Lead.
The Red Eagles put up another good display with intent to win the StarTimes Uganda Premier after they thrashed Kitara FC 4-0 and condemn them to relegation.

In form forward Erick Kambale scored twice while left back Arthur Kiggundu and substitute Frank Kalanda got a goal each.

In a rather bizarre start, Kitara started all out and got a golden opportunity just after five minutes, poor communication between Mathias Muwanga and his defence allowed winger Vincent Kasoki to sneak through with an empty net infront of him but finish saw the ball go over the bar sending the crowd at Wankulukuku into bewilderment.

The hosts then settled in and had their first chance in the 26th minute, pacey winger Martin Kizza made the run on the right and crossed the ball to a waiting Erick Kambale but his finish went wide.

The Red Eagles were at it again but this time using the left flank, Arthur Kiggundu calmly controlled John Byamukama’s pass in the left wing before his pin pointed cross found Erick Kambale who made no mistake, heading home to open the scoring in the 8th minute.

The goal scorer turned provider in the 28th minute when he won the ball abit deep and exchanged good interplay with Arthur Kiggundu who sneaked into the box and calmly slotted home to double the lead and send the hosts into the break with the lead. The goal was Kiggundu’s second this season and his first assist as well.

After recess, the hosts continued to show dominance and Erick Kambale got everyone on their feet with a beauty of a finish, the lanky forward made his way into the box and seemed cornered but he majestically dummied the defence as though he was shooting and they all fell for it only for him to slot the ball at the far bottom corner of the goal and make it 3-0 in the 64th minute, cool finish it was.

And just when it seemed like the day had come to an end, Frank Kalanda came on for Martin Kizza in the 74th minute and he literally scored on his first touch, Machete pounced on a Mayanja Ivan spilled shot at the near post to slot home and make it 4-0 in the 78th minute.

The visitors didn’t seem to have any answers at 4-0 and cautiously played out the rest of the game to avoid further embarrassment.

Wasswa Bbosa – Head Coach.
“We’ve managed to get maximum points today, which is so important because we remain at the top of the table so as we head into the Stanbic Uganda cup quarter final, we now should focus and get a result. We managed to score 4 goals although I think our pace was abit down but nonetheless, we got maximum points”.

Erick Kambale – Forward.
