Uganda’s historical and oldest club rivalry takes center stage this saturday 19th December when we take on our perennial rivals S.C Villa.

With 22 league titles between them, the Express FC – S.C Villa fixture has always been a sharp divider in Ugandan football for time immemorial and the latest meeting which comes on match day 5 finds the Red Eagles in pursuit for a second league win of the season.

Head coach Wasswa Bossa who has managed both sides knows just how important this game is and states the bottom line is his charges know it’s a must win.

“We’ve been working on our finishing which i felt was lacking when we played against Mbarara City. We know how big a game this is but the players know that the target is a win but we respect Villa because they’re a decent side” He stated.

Club captain Enock Walusimbi who returns from suspension after serving a 3 match ban for.a send off against Onduparaka on match day one has re-echoed the need to win the derby.

“Am glad to be back from suspension, the team has trained well and worked on their mistakes. The competition for who starts is healthy and whoever the coach will choose will have one target to win the game” he concluded.
