We Want To Win The Game And Finish The First Round In Style – Kefa Kisala

The first round of the Uganda Premier League is coming to an end for us on Thursday 10th against Ndejje University.

We talked to our head coach Kefa Kisala about the game tomorrow, team news, delay in second round fixtures and January plans. Below is what he had to say.

On the game on Thursday against Ndejje University…

We want to win the game and finish the first round in style and to give us the picture on what we should do in our Uganda Cup game next Thursday against Water FC. Its a home game we shall try hard to get a good result.

On the first round performance…

According to me if you compare the way we finished our first round last season and now this season there’s a big difference and it shows we have progressed. We had 11 points in 15 games so there is a difference between 20 and 11 because we have 20 already though that’s not where Express Football Club is supposed to be.

On team news…

Badru Nsubuga is suspended he has three yellow cards, Robben Paul Kabuye is back training but not yet match fit, Arthur Kigundu is also out. Those are the players who will miss the game on Thursday.

On when he expects Kabuye to be back…

By the time we start the second round he will be ready to play.

On Badru Nsubuga’s suspension and it’s impact to the team….

It is bad for us because he has been one of our best players but we have players who can replace him. We have 24 players so we shall get a replacement.

On how he feels to finish the first round not knowing who they will play in the second round and when…

It’s bad but that’s Uganda we have to wait they may even release the fixtures when you are playing tomorrow so when it comes to that we just wait and be ready all the time.

On his January transfer plans….

We shall analyze our performance after the game on Thursday them we shall decide where we have to beef up because when you look at the table in 14 games we have scored 15 goals but we have conceded 14 meaning we at least score in every game but we concede a lot and one has to compensate another either you score a lot or you defend well and score only one goal so we shall look there and see why and where we have to improve.
