Express FC forward Erick Kambale and head coach Wasswa Bbosa have been named the Uganda Premier League player and coach respectively for the month of May.

Erick Kambale who was in scintillating form in May managed eight goals in the five league games edging URA FC’s Steven Mukwala and Wakiso Giants’ Vianney Ssekajugo to the accolade while head coach Wasswa Bbosa picked up five league wins in May edging Wakiso Giants’ Douglas Bamweyana and URA FC’s Sam Ssimbwa.

For Kambale, this is a motivator heading into the final bend of the league.

“I can’t thank my teammates and technical team lead by the head coach Wasswa Bbosa enough for a fantastic job done in May, however it’s not done yet, we have to focus and see out the remaining games left to win the league, we also have the Uganda Cup to fight for so let’s focus and conclude the season with a double if possible”.

For Wasswa Bbosa, the technical team has done a great job and adds that the focus is on seeing out the season with silverware.

“I am grateful for the recognition but it was team work all through, I appreciate my technical team and everyone behind the scenes at the club for the effort but it’s not done yet, we’re preparing for the final bend and we have nothing but getting silverware on our minds”.

Kambale opened his may account in the 2-0 home win over Police FC, he then bagged his first club and career hat-trick away to Kyetume FC before registering a goal in each of the subsequent wins against UPDF FC, Busoga United and notching a brace at home against Kitara FC.
