John Revita captained the Red Eagles in the absence of Isaac Mutanga and put in a respectable performance as we drew 0-0 with Mbarara City on Tuesday 5th at Wankulukuku.

We talked to him after the game and below is what he said.

On the game…

It was a difficult game because both teams gave each other respect in the first minutes and studying each other but we were strong because we needed three points but that is football not that everything you need comes as you wish it. We handled the game very well unfortunately goals couldn’t come.

On Isaac Mutanga missing out despite being on the line up…

It was bad because he adds an impact if he is there we also strengthen but when he missed out a team has many players Pius (Mbidde) came in his place and played well. He was going to play six but Mbidde also played well.

On the performance of Pius Mbidde despite being out for quite sometime…

He played well, his job was to block and keep Mucureezi out of the game and he did it well as you saw through out the game he didn’t appear like in their past games and Pius wasn’t match fit being out for quite sometime but he handled the position well and I give him credit.

On the importance of the result going into Uganda Cup…

Uganda Cup is a knockout competition in that if you keep a clean sheet you defend well and in Uganda Cup we have to do better even if we don’t score but we have to make sure we don’t concede. In Uganda cup if you concede the work is doubled but if you keep a clean sheet you have a chance to win in penalties but we want to beat them in 90 minutes.

On the recovery time going into Uganda cup on 11th…

It’s enough time to rest because during those days we shall be resting as we train to keep our fitness levels high and win that game.
