#EXPBRI | 5 Things To Look Out For

Bright Stars will visit us on Wednesday 1st May for the penultimate game of the 2018/19 UPL season after playing against them four days earlier in the first leg of the Uganda Cup semifinal which ended 1-1.

#Express v Bright Stars | Uganda Premier League Matchday 29 | Betway Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku | Wednesday 1st May | Kick off 4:30pm‬ | #EXPBRI

Here are the 5 things to look out for:

Red Eagles to fly over the Stars?

The Red Eagles are trailing the Stars by just two points having collected 38 points compared to the Red Eagles 36 with both teams on 28 games. A win on Wednesday will see the Red Eagles fly over the Stars and have a one point advantage with only a game to go. Express have a golden opportunity with a home game to get all three points.

Another stalemate?

Two games played by the two teams both in league and cup have ended in draw. The first round of the league Express got in front thru Eric Kambale but were pegged back by Brian Kayanja. In the Uganda Cup Express took the lead through Michael Birungi but Bright Stars equalized through a Nelson Ssenkatuka penalty. However, with the Red Eagles at home they may take all three points but we await to see what will happen on the pitch.

Physical Bright Stars.

Fred Kajoba’s side is known for being a physical side. Most players are blessed with size and are hard tacklers. Brian Umony, Badru Nsubuga and Arthur Kiggundu all tasted the wrath of the Bright Stars defenders and midfielders with Arthur receiving the worst tackle which will keep him out of the remaining league games. Umony and Badru are fit to play again but couldn’t finish the game at Mwererwe. With such an experience fresh on our minds the technical team and players must have a solution for that kind of challenge.

The midfield trio again?

Badru Nsubuga, Pius Mbidde and Davis Mayanja started for us in the midfield. Badru ahead of Davis and Pius and their work rate and teamwork caught eyes of many people who watched the game and how they matched a more bigger and experienced Bright Stars midfield.
Head coach George Ssimwogerere May decide to start all of them like he did on Sunday or rest some of them to give other players like Lawrence Kigonya a chance but the three youngsters had a very impressive game on Sunday.

Disan Galiwango’s form!

It’s fair to say that Disan Galiwango is the most in form Express player. Coach George Ssimwogerere made a bold decision moving him upfront from left back when he rejoined Express in February and it is working very well. Galiwango has been involved in four goals in the last four games. He scored against Villa, brought down against KCCA to win a penalty, assisted Umony’s header against Kirinya Jinja SSS and assisted Birungi’s header against Bright Stars at Mwererwe. He has been involved in all our games we have played apart from the one against Vipers when he had accumulated yellow cards. It will be great to see his scintillating form continue on Wednesday against Bright Stars at Wankulukuku.
