FT’ | Ndejje University 0-1 Express | Five Things We Noticed
We beat a hard battling Ndejje University side at their backyard and here are the five things we noticed.
Three away wins against Newly promoted sides.
The Red Eagles have played all three newcomers beating all of them away.
Paidha 3-1 in Arua, Nyamityobora 2-0 in Mbarara and Ndejje 1-0 in Bombo.
Six goals scored and only one conceded.
Second successive away clean sheet
Since the coming of coach Sim the Red Eagles have only conceded two goals in five games. A late winner away at BUL by Muhindo Kambale and Maroons’ opener at Wankulukuku. Away from home this was the second successive clean sheet after that against Nyamityobora in Mbarara.
Mubaraka scores again.
Since the coming of coach Sim Mubaraka Nsubuga has Ben one of the most used players. He played as a striker in two games against BUL and Police and didn’t get a goal. However, against Ndejje he got the all important goal to move his tally this season to three and he last scored against Paidha away in November.
The team’s fighting spirit
The Ndejje players were more physical and bigger but our players matched them toe to toe and grabbed a winner with less than 15 minutes to go. The entire team fought as a unit until the last minute and got the win without much trouble from Ndejje. It was a spirited performance. Odur muscled his way into big Ndejje defenders to get a shot which the keeper partied for Mubaraka to score like he was possessed. The coach applauded their performance after the game.
Injury scares.
The Red Eagles were forced into two early substitutions and unfortunately all in defense. Arthur Kiggundu in the 35th minute, Charles Musoke in the 50th minute and other players like Muwanga, Odur, Umony, Kayiwa, Kigonya had knocks in the physical battle against Ndejje.
The next game against Vipers away at Kitende is only 2 days away. A full strength squad is needed against such a big opponent in Ugandan football.
