Express FC Set To Feature At The CECAFA Kagame Cup.

Express FC have been confirmed as one of two Ugandan clubs set to play at the upcoming CECAFA Kagame Cup which is slated to take place from 1-15th August 2021 in Dar-es-Saalam, Tanzania.

The Red Eagles who last played at the showpiece in 2013 earned the slot after winning the league last season.

Club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa stressed the importance of the competition especially ahead of the CAF Champions League slated for September.

“This is a good opportunity for us as a team to prepare for the season ahead, for Express FC to return to this stage is also a milestone but we’re going to make the most of it, the technical team are working around the clock to ensure we have a team fit and ready to compete in Dar-es-Saalam”.

Express FC reached the final of the competition in 1994 and 1995 but last appeared in 2013 reaching the quarterfinals. Defending champions KCCA FC are the other Ugandan side invited.
