EXPMAR | Express v Maroons | Five Things To Look Out For
The Red Eagles are back in Uganda Premier League action on Thursday against Maroons FC at Wankulukuku.

Here are the five things to look out for:
Mean Red Eagles at the back.
The Red Eagles have kept two clean sheets out of three games and limited Police to zero shots on target in their previous game. The back four has been composed of Kiggundu, Musoke, Revita and Kakeeto with Muwanga behind them in goal. Kakeeto got injured against Police and was not able to train on Tuesday and the signs are that he may not be ready to play against Maroons on Thursday. However, Coach George Ssimwogerere is not scared and believes he will get a replacement and continue his run of clean sheets.
More players coming back from injuries.
Since coach Sim joined he has never had a squad fit enough to suit his game plan. In the games against BUL and Police he has started with Mubaraka Nsubuga a wide player as his striker. Odur came back but started from the bench and Birungi wide. Badru Nsubuga also back in the squad but may not be ready to get involved. With many players coming back from injury it will be interesting to see how it impacts coach Sim’s selection.
Odur, Kayiwa and Birungi may reunite.
The trio have scored 12 goals among themselves. Odur 5, Kayiwa 4 and Birungi 3. Before Kambale got into the mix, they were the formidable sources of goals for the Red Eagles and connected well with each other. Against Maroons with all of them fit and goals needed coach Sim may decide to unleash all of them in his starting 11 against Police to get the much needed goals.
The positive mood in the team.
The boys are in high spirits after two consecutive victories against Nyamityobora and Police which even included qualifying for the quarter finals. This may be attributed to the coming of new staff both in coaching and playing staff. This usually translates into good performances on the field of play. Against Maroons on Thursday at Wankulukuku we shall witness how this impacts on the team as Sim and his team manage their fourth game and the first Uganda Premier League game at Wankulukuku.
Maroons in a difficult situation.
Teams usually struggling in relegation are tough to beat. The Prisons side is in the same situation and fighting to stay in the Premier League. They have managed to get 18 points from 19 games and are in 13th position out of 16 teams, 5 points ahead of the relegation zone.
Against us they may be with a different attitude and try to play for their safety.
The first leg ended 1-1 at Luzira Odur scoring for us and Maroons equalizing later.
