U19s | Lubega strikes as the Red Eaglets return to FUFA Juniors’ League action with a win away against Kirinya Jinja SSS

Derrick Lubega’s first half strike was enough to secure all three points for the Red Eaglets away in Jinja.

The league had taken a long break due to the AFCON U17 tournament which ended last month in Tanzania where our left back Kevin Ssekimbegga was part of the Uganda Cubs team.

Lubega started in attack alongside Eddie Ssebandeke and Peter Bright Olwedo.

The Red Eaglets took the first half lead and managed to maintain the pressure from the hosts until the halftime whistle.

The second half started and the hosts continued to attack as the Red Eaglets kept being organized at the back and goalkeeper Sadat Mugenyi commanded his back line well.

The Red Eaglets are now 5th on the 8-team log in the Hattrick group with 21 points from 14 games.
