Enock Walusimbi Named Uganda Cranes CECAFA Team Captain.
Hours after Express FC clinched their 7th Uganda Premier League title, club captain is basking in double glory after he was also named Cranes captain for the upcoming CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
The 25-man sqaud named by the head coach Moley Byekwaso late on Tuesday 29th June sees only Walusimbi make the grade with earlier call ups of Goalkeeper Denis Otim and forward Erick Kambale being dropped. Walusimbi is looking at making the best of the call up.

“I am so happy that I got the opportunity to captain the U23 CECAFA Cranes squad at the CECAFA tourney, it feels good as a player and i feel great that they’ve selected me to lead these great players and i know we shall work together with the players and coaching stuff to make sure we bring the trophy (CECAFA) back to Uganda”.

About leading his charges to the club’s first league title in almost nine years and also sealing a CAF Champions league spot for the first time in 26 years, “Lucio” who got the news in transit to the Cranes Camp was overjoyed.
“I basically was speechless, the boys and everyone at the club deserve this title, we approached each game like a final and for us to be rewarded this way is simply fantastic, I know we have to stay safe and all but in the near future we shall surely celebrate this victory” He said.

The Red Eagles skipper longside 24 others are expected to camp in Saudi Arabia before heading to Ethiopia for the showpiece which kicks off on 17th July.
