Denis Otim Patiently Learning And Waiting To Pounce.
Goalkeepers become better with age they say and for Express FC shot stopper Denis Otim, time is certainly all he needs to claim the number one Jersey.

The 20-year-old who joined the Red Eagles from Mbarara City at the start of the season believes he’s well enroute to making the first team squad albeit stiff competition from Mathias Muwanga, Cryspus Kusiima and Sadat Mugenyi although he’s not about to walk away.

“Firstly it’s been a good ride from the start and I can’t complain, the boys have been fantastic, you can see we’re all working towards a common goal of winning but for my case, the G.K coach (Daniel Kiwanuka) has done a fantastic job, I try to be better with every opportunity given to me and I have no doubt it’s only a matter of time for me to be in goal” he stated.

With Wasswa Bossa’s charges having leaked in three goals from the four games played and managing only one clean sheet, Otim states that the break allowed them to correct the mistakes and he’s certain the clean sheets will keep flowing in.
“As a team we did great before the break but I believe we can do better, as goalkeepers we know we have to ensure that we keep as many clean sheets and the break has allowed us to correct our mistakes, it’s now hoping for the best when the league resumes” He added.

So far Mathias Muwanga who also doubles as the assistant captain has played all the games but Denis Otim, Cryspus Kusiima and Sadat Mugenyi are following closely waiting for the right opportunity to make a mark.

The Red Eagles hope to keep their unbeaten run intact when they face Vipers on Tuesday 9th February when the league resumes.
