We want to win because our position on the log isn’t pleasant at all – Davis Mayanja
Davis Mayanja put in a very commendable performance against Bright Stars in the Uganda Cup semifinal first leg at Mwererwe on Sunday.
The same opponents will be in town on Wednesday this time in the Uganda Premier League.

We talked to the midfielder in his second season with the club and below is what he said.
On how they are ready for the game…
We are ready and we want to win because our position on the table isn’t pleasant at all. A win at least will take us to a good position and we are playing against the same team in the Uganda Cup so we want to continue studying them it will help us when we play them again next week.
On whether we are still focusing on the league…
As I said earlier we want to finish in a respectable position so every game is handled as a very important game. The coach may rest some of his players but the focus is the same we want to win that game and climb up the table.
On whether we got some lessons from the past game against Bright Stars…
We learned a lot of things. Firstly, we knew they are a very physical side, we learned who their dangerous players are so in the next game we can plan for them and we know their general playing style and it helps us to get ready better than the last time when we didn’t know all that. We played against them now we know how to handle them and the dangerous players we have to handle very well.
On his midfield partnership with Badru Nsubuga and Pius Mbidde…
It’s a good partnership because we are all hard workers and we give all we could for this football club. We are doing well.
