A simple mistake and lack of concentration cost us the game – Coach Sim

The Red Eagles drew 1-1 with Villa at Wankulukuku

Coach Sim faced the media after the game and below is what he said.

On the game…

It was a good game Villa is a good team fighting for their lives and they gave us a challenge. I would have been proud of a point but the way and the time in which we conceded we felt we should have won the game but just a simple foul and lack of concentration cost us. I’m proud of the team, They worked had to get the result.

On playing two strikers and bringing Badru back…

Villa they play 3 defenders and five midfielders so to force them to go back and be four defenders we had to deploy two strikers to avoid their movements so we played the first half like that and then changed the second half after they had conceded to that and brought another midfielder then stayed with one striker to attack them.

On whether that doesn’t relieve Villa of the pressure after removing the other forward…

The forward you bring on is to purposely make the defenders get tired that’s why their defenders were not moving in the second half and we had to concede via a set piece so it was a mistake.

On whether it is the same approach he will apply against KCCA on 20th April…

Very game is handled the way it comes so we shall see when that game comes and the tactics we shall use.
